Pecans: US exports rise by 21%

AUSTIN. The American Pecan Council (APC) started documenting the monthly export progress of pecan nuts one year ago. In 2018/2019, as...

... much as 51,554 metric tonnes of in shells* were shipped overseas. The main export destination was Canada with 3,488 metric tonnes. According to the APC a total of 14,400 metric tonnes were shipped to North America (excluding the US). Export to Europe, however, range higher at approx. 23,730 metric tonnes. In considering Germany (6,625 mt), the Netherlands (5,838 mt) and the UK (4,301 mt) and France (2,708 mt), it becomes evident that four of the five most important US export destination are located in Europe. Shipments to Asia during this period amount to about 10,660 metric tonnes.
