Pecans: Tops and flops in 2017/18

AUSTIN. In terms of quality, market participants report a largely good pecan crop in 2017/18, although world production is expected to be smaller than last year, contrary to previous expectations.

 

Top harvests in the US

While US pecan production has outperformed this year, according to the International Dried Fruit and Nuts Council, the Mexican harvest approached the 2013/14 season's output. In total, 269,250 mt of in shells are to be harvested this season.
