DALIAN. A price war is raging in the Chinese pumpkin seed market with traders competing for customers. Buyers are urged to pay special attention to quality.

 

Quality vs quantity

Not all exporters in China are participating in this price war as some consider quality more important than offering cheap prices. Not all suppliers, who have drastically reduced their prices, offer good quality. Well established suppliers can rely on their regular customers, they do not need low prices to attract buyers. The result is a price discrepancy of several hundred dollars per tonne.
