DALIAN. Although market players had initially reported that more shine skins were being sown, new estimates now state the opposite.

Yields should compansate decline in acreage

Chelmer Foods estmaies that shine skin acreage has decrease by around 20-30% sinde last year. The good weather conditions in northeastern China may, however, compansate for the decline in acreage and production is expected to remain similar in size as last year.

Acreage for GWS kernels has also been cut as many farmers in Inner Mongolia are reported to have swithced to sunflower and cannabis seeds. Production of sunflwoer and watermelon seeds is also on the rise in Xinjiang. This year's GWS production has rece
