Quinoa: less colourful supplies

SUCRE. Bolivia's current quinoa crop comprise less colourful varieties. White quinoa is not trading in line with expectations. EU imports have risen by 12%.

Satisfying crop

Harvesting is in full swing in South America. According to initial reports farmers have, however, sown less colourful varieties this season. This has considerably reduced the supplies of red and black quinoa. Apart from this, the harvest is going well and the supply of white quinoa is quite adequate.

Prices, however, do not reflect these dynamics as the quotations for white quinoa are too high. Offers for other colours are very limited as suppliers only intend to issue prices once harvesting has been completed in about a month. Traders hope t
