Exports of rice to increase

The trade in rice is expected to reach 42.3 million metric tonnes.

Vietnam’s rice exports are projected to increase and reach to 6 million.

Reason: Demand from Southeast Asia – Philippines – the recent rice tender.

 

Pakistan’s rice exports are projected to increase to 4.1 million tonnes.

Reason: The crop is slightly larger this year.

 

Burma’s rice exports are projected to increase to 1.7 million tonnes.

Reason: Strong demand from EU.

 

Whereas it’s not the same for all countries.

India’s rice exports will decline due to a stronger domestic demand and smaller crop this year.

 

Thailand’s rice exports are expected to be flat.

 

US rice exports are expected to decline due to tighter supply and high prices
