NEW DELHI. While market players are speaking of fields being flooded by continuing rainfall, the Minister of Agriculture for the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh is trying to see a positive aspect.

Yet another tender
The good export demand and the regular tenders from South Korea have repeatedly caused prices to rise over the last few weeks. They have now stabilised, at least for the time being. Hulled sesame seeds are currently being offered at prices of about 400 USD/mt higher than at this time last year.

Regardless of how production will develop, the new crop will not be available on the market until November. That could be cutting it fine for the 12,000-13,000 mt sesame tender expected in two to three weeks.
