NEW DELHI. Strikes have caused transportation delays in India this week. Supplies are moreover reduced in the upcountry markets.

Prices are on the rise

The longer the strike lasts the more the pressure increases for the exporters who need to prepare the shipments for the tender from South Korea. Any delays of more than 10 days will mean that they will have to pay a fine if they want their deliveries to be accepted.

In order to prepare for the anticipated rise in demand after the strike the exporters have started to buy everything they can get their hands on. Prices have therefore risen in India and will most likely continue to do so over the next few days.
