Sesame seeds: Germany reduces imports by 21%

NEW DELHI/FRANKFURT. Sesame seed exporters in India are currently finding it difficult to defend their position in the market. This is also reflected in the exports to Germany.

Prices continue to decline

Indian sesame seed traders had already lowered their export prices again when the results of the current tender were announced last week. The market players had hoped to contribute at least half of the 12,000 metric tonnes of sesame seeds that were put out in the tender. However, they had little chance against the lower prices of exporters from Nigeria and other African countries. The low level of trading activity due to the lack of domestic and foreign demand prompted traders to further reduce their prices despite
