Exchange rate is stable. Local market prices are stable.  There is not much stock available for exports at the same time there is no demand. Who has stock on hand doesn’t want to sale at lower prices. Overall market in Dollar on FOB is stable. There are enquiries coming from china but they are asking US$30 to 40 per mt. lower prices than offered prices. Due to this gap there is not much business taking place. There is EID Festival today for Muslims. Market is off today in Nigeria Northern state like Kano, etc.

TOGO/MALI/Burkina Market Information: 

Exchange rate is stable. Local market is stable. There is not big stock in the local market. Who are having stock doesn’t want to sale at lower prices. Market is stagnant, no demand and no supply situation for time being.

Ethiopia Market Information: 

There is not much movement in the market. There is huge stock with exporters and also ECX Exchange. Due to not getting dollars for imports people are offering to non-china market. All exporters are searching for non-China Exports market for all products exported from Ethiopia. China is currently buying from Ethiopia i.e. only Humera Quality Sesame Seeds. There is EID festival due to that market is closed mostly.

Sudan Market information:

Exchange is stable. Local market prices are stable.  Market is stable not much movement in the market. Today Local market is closed, due to National Holidays for EID Festival.

Somalia Market information:

Market is stable and not much movements in the market.  Local market is closed due to EID Festival.

Bangladesh Market information:

Local market is stable for all varieties of sesame seeds and little down side on last Friday & Saturday off market trade done at lower prices.  There are some business took places at lower prices on Friday and Saturday. Today market is close due to National Holidays for EID Festival.

Tanzania/Mozambique:

Local market is stable. Exchange rate is stable. Not much movement in the market. Market is closed due to EID Festival. There is demand at lower prices from China and there are some business took place due to that market is now stable.

Indian Sesame Seeds:

Exchange rate is also stable vs. Dollar. Arrivals of summer crop 2017 in some of the Market of Gujarat as follows:

Arrival has reduced in the all market for summer crop on Friday and Saturday. Today due to EID Festival, some of the market yards (Mandis) are close and where market is open there is good arrival. Increase in arrival is due to good rain in last weekend and this Sunday all over growing area of Sesame Seeds. Farmer, traders and stockiest are expected that there will be good winter crop due to good rain and good sowing of sesame seeds, market prices of sesame seeds in the local market will further reduce.

Market is up today in comparison to last Thursday prices but local market is stable in comparison to previous close i.e. on Saturday. No demand from china last week after increase in prices.

Last year crop i.e. winter crop of 2016 is available at lower prices than summer crop.

Report on China Demand (Biggest Buyer of the World for Sesame) :

According to the port report of china, about 5000 tons of goods were sold from China Ports and 2,500 tons from Tianjin Port last week. There are 3 points that lead the purchasing quantity to be increased sharply: 

1. People are expecting that prices are going to go up little.
2. This price level will be good enough to generate the market demand.
3. Inventory at ports are reducing which is good sign for market to stop going down and which may lift the market up if there is local demand for sesame.
4. Tanzania and Mozambique crop yet not started arriving to the port. It will start soon may be at the time of arrival prices may go down. Later arrival has created panic to market and may leads prices to go up.

According to personal views Prices will be stable and can go ups and down by US$40. There will be demand at lower level prices.

Today’s sentiment of India market will be go down or stable further due to good rain in last three days in growing area of sesame seeds. There is good arrival today in some of the market yard. (mandi).
