MANISA. Turkish dried fruit suppliers have come away from the SIAL trade fair feeling disillusioned. The market has stabilised. There is a lack of export demand for table grapes.

Buyers prefer prompt shipments

The visit to the SIAL food trade fair in Paris proved relatively disillusioning for Turkish dried fruit suppliers. Exporters had met with their customers on site to discuss the current market situation; however, comparatively few new deals were concluded. The supply of dried grapes on the world market, which is once again more abundant than in previous years, is benefiting buyers, and fewer long-term contracts are being signed. Instead, according to traders, buyers are adapting to their current needs and prioritising prompt shipments.
