SOFIA. Market players in Bulgaria report that some buyers are confronted with an entirely new market situation this year. Traders, however, adopt a more cautionary approach. Prices have, in addition, been further adjusted throughout Eastern Europe.

Oilseed prices are set to decline

The prices for black in shells with a 96% purity have again risen this week to EUR 0.322 per kg CPT Varna. This is a level last witnessed in June. Market players currently hail these seeds as “black gold” and claim that prices will continue to climb. Problem is that as much as 500,000 metric tonnes have already been consumed since the start of the season and supplies are expected to drop to 1.3 million metric tonnes.
