SOFIA. In its recent March report, COCERAL has published estimates for the European sunflower seed production in 2018. Bulgarian traders are pleased about increasing willingness to buy.

Production estimates for 2018
In its recent report, COCERAL has estimated the European sunflower seed production in 2018 to amount to just under 9.65 million mt, which is 6.6% lower compared to 2017. The reasons for this decline in production are potentially smaller acreages and lower yields. Bulgarian sunflower seed production is expected to decline, as is the case among other countries, by 5% to 1.75 million mt in 2018. in contrast, COCERAL is expecting production in Spain to rise to 826,000 mt, an increase of 4.8% in comparison to last year. &nb
