Sunflower seeds: Export prices rise

SOFIA. After last week’s chaotic snowfall that caused roads to be partially inaccessible, the Bulgarian sunflower seed market is now thriving.

 

Raw seeds more expensive again

In the Bulgarian ports, several shipments of grain and oilseeds are waiting to be loaded or shipped, among them a total of 35,000 mt of sunflower seeds. Even sunflower products such as oil and meal are in the waiting line.

Prices for sunflower meal increased 40-50 EUR/mt within two weeks and black sunflower seeds in the shell, 96% have also become more expensive in the ports of Varna and Burgas (304 EUR/mt CPT Varna).
