SOFIA/KYIV. Attacks on Ukrainian trade routes are causing uncertainty in the sunflower seed market. Prices have risen for the time being.

Prices are rising

Ongoing attacks on trade routes such as ships, port areas, and production companies, as well as damage to energy infrastructure, are currently major factors contributing to market uncertainty in Ukraine. As a result, prices for hulled and unhulled sunflower seeds have risen again this week. However, demand for bakery kernels remains subdued. The market is now factoring in higher logistical and operational risks – not only for short-term transactions, but also for future shipments.
