Sunflower seeds: And prices continue to rise

SOFIA/KIEW. Prices for Bulgarian sunflower seeds are moving inexorably in one direction. For some it's faster, for others it's slower - but it's going up.

No U-turn in sight
According to information from the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture, sunflower seed stocks currently stand at 1.3 million mt, and a good 1.08 million mt have already been delivered to domestic and foreign markets this season.

Both the prices for black in-shell sunflower seeds and for bakery seeds have reached their previous high for the season. Market participants expect that the offers will maintain this level in the coming weeks. A slight price increase next month is also not ruled out.
