SOFIA. Bulgaria's farmers are holding back on selling the new sunflower seed crop. The harvest in Ukraine only started last week and should be available from mid-September.

Small kernels, low oil content

In recent weeks, the prospects for the Bulgarian sunflower seed crop have shown a mixed picture. Although there are some growing regions that seem to be in good condition, the farmers here have not yet started harvesting, which is why no statement can yet be made about the yields. In other areas, there was a noticeable lack of rainfall, which affected the crop.
