Sunflower seeds: Raw seed prices fall to 9-week low

SOFIA. This week brought the long-awaited precipitation to the western sunflower seed growing regions of Bulgaria and also in the east of the country it should rain sufficiently.

Raw seeds approaching 300 EUR/mt
According to the current report of the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture, the sunflower seed stocks at the beginning of April were 838,532 mt. The difference between the sunflower seeds used for oil production and the hulling has increased even more in recent months.

Good demand from domestic and foreign markets had caused the raw material prices for Bulgarian sunflower seeds to rise in recent weeks. By now, the market has become much calmer again. This week, black sunflower seeds, in shell, 96% purity at quoted at their lowest
