Sunflower seeds: Rise in transportation costs

SOFIA. According to the Bulgarian Grain Agency (BGA), the country has so far produced 1.705 million mt. Despite this impressive result, prices have, however, risen this week.

 

Carriers desperately needed
The weaker euro and higher fuel prices have caused the prices for raw black sunflower seeds, in shell, 96% purity to rise to 276 EUR/mt CPT Varna. Although plenty of corn and wheat is being shipped from the ports, there has not yet been any signs of sunflower seeds.
