Sunflower seeds: Suppliers are eager to sell

SOFIA. September has so far seen even more favourable prices and a revival of the Eastern European sunflower seed market. Negotiations between buyers and sellers are being conducted eagerly.

 

Sufficient supplies
Harvest reports from Bulgaria sound almost too good to be true. The seeds have a good oil content and there are also sufficiently large seeds, which are ideal for processing into hulled bakery seeds.

The pressure on prices is increasing. Black sunflower seeds, 96% purity, are trading for 294 EUR/mt CPT Varna and bakery kernels are offered being offered by some traders for as little as 610 EUR/mt DDP Germany.
