... market supplies dwindled to as low as 300,000 mt towards the end of May. Since the season still lasts three months Market players are reckoning with negligible carry-over stocks.

Increase in acreage, drop in production

Although sowing was completed earlier than last year and UkrAgroConsult as well as Coceral expect a 6% increase in acreage to 780,000 ha, production will come nowhere near to last year if yields are average. Last year’s exceptional yield of 27 mt/ha had an enormous impact on production.
