Walnuts: Price corrections in Hungary

BUDAPEST/SACRAMENTO. The limited supplies in Hungary have driven up prices over the last few weeks. Traders in California have, however, been unable to push through their prices.

Chile has an impact on California

Depending on variety, the prices for Hungarian walnuts have risen by 0.50-0.60 EUR/kg over the last few weeks. As the season progresses, the stocks are slowly but surely running low. Although a rise in demand initially prompted traders in Californian to raise their prices, they were cut short by new crop arrivals from Chile and the ample supplies in the US market.
