MADRID. Subsidies for Spain's almond industry were discussed at last week's video conference meeting between Esperanza Orellana, the Director General for Agricultural Productions and Markets, and representatives of the nut and dried fruit sector. Organic almonds have great potential.

As agricultural media report possible subsidies for the nut and dried fruit sector were discussed, but no specific details emerged. Government support is, however, provided for companies affected by the crisis.
