Buckwheat: acreage in Ukraine has grown significantly

DALIAN/KYIV. China's imports from Europe declined in spring. In Ukraine, sowing progressed well, which is why the area under cultivation has grown significantly compared to last year.

Sowing almost doubled

The prices for Chinese buckwheat are stable except for slight downward fluctuations. China's buckwheat imports from Europe were about 30% lower in April this year and reached 4,395 mt. Meanwhile, less goods from the domestic market were traded in recent weeks, as growers were busy sowing for the coming crop. Conventional hulled buckwheat is currently being offered for USD 1,140/mt FOB Dalian, while offers for organic quality are at a level of USD 1,220/mt FOB Dalian.
