Buckwheat: EU imports up by 126%

DALIAN/KYIV. Chinese suppliers are unwilling to lower their prices. Experts predict an upsurge in production in Ukraine. The EU has increased its buckwheat imports by 126% this season.

Sufficient supply

The supply of buckwheat on the Chinese market remains sufficient and domestic and overseas sales are stable. Traders are looking to reduce their stocks and are only purchasing in response to specific enquiries. However, suppliers are currently unwilling to lower their prices. Meanwhile, shipments of imported buckwheat continue to arrive at Chinese ports.
