Buckwheat: Germany increases imports by almost 25%

BEIJING. In the Chinese buckwheat market, the development of demand is of great importance, especially in the domestic market. Meanwhile, the latest import data to Germany show that imports increased by almost a quarter last year.

Sporadic imports from Russia

In the Chinese market, buckwheat prices have already been moving at a similar level for a few weeks, with only slight fluctuations. Before the Chinese New Year, prices had increased, but these adjustments have since been reversed. Only organic buckwheat continued to trend a little higher. Raw material supplies continue to run low and farmers are reluctant to sell their stocks, while traders would like to replenish theirs. KYIV. Taras Vysotskiy, Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture, accused invading Russian forces of stealing grain in areas they have occupied on 30 April. Vysotskiy stated on Ukrainian TV that “there are confirmed facts that several hundred thousand tons of grain in total were taken out of the Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions.” Farmers are set to defy the Russian invaders.
