Buckwheat: little movement in the market

BEIJING/KYIV. In Ukraine, the buckwheat harvest is coming to a close, with about 90% of the acreage harvested so far. Meanwhile, demand in the Chinese market leaves much to be desired.

Harvest in Ukraine almost completed

Chinese market players are disappointed about the lack of demand in the buckwheat market. Processors are reluctant to buy, but farmers are also holding back on offers in order to achieve better prices. Export prices for conventional hulled buckwheat are currently at USD 1,140/mt FOB Dalian, for organic buckwheat prices are at around USD 1,220/mt FOB Dalian, which is a similar level as in the past weeks.

In Ukraine, the buckwheat harvest is coming to an end. So far, 141,000 mt of buckwheat have been harvested on 104,00
