KEMPTEN/BRUSSELS. In Germany, the prolonged dry weather conditions in summer may impact dairy supplies. EU butter quotations have gained. EU butter exports are still amazingly high.

Dry weather to impact supplies in Germany

As the dry weather conditions in summer will reduce feed availability it is very well possible that this will impact milk supplies in the next few months according to this week's market report issued by the South German Butter and Cheese Exchange in Kempten. Retail demand for table butter has declined and higher prices have been agreed in recent negotiations with media reports highlighting price rises for butter in Aldi and Lidl.
