KEMPTEN/BRUSSELS. In Germany, the current heatwave will slow things down. Average EU butter prices are clearly on the rise. EU exports have reached a record this year.

Current heatwave to slow arrivals

Expectation is that milk arrivals will continue to decline due to the current heatwave in Germany as the South German Butter and Cheese Exchange in Kempten reports. Nutrient levels are also low. Yet, industrial cream and raw milk have traded in a firm range so far.

Table butter sales are normal for the summer holiday season and quotations are stable at EUR 3.80-4.60/kg (USD 4.36-5.28/kg) in Kempten. Bulk butter quotations are, by contrast, inching up and have now reached EUR 4.00-4.10/kg (USD 4.59-4.70/kg) with buyers, howev
