Cashews: slow return in Vietnam

HANOI. New crop estimates are still to emerge in West Africa and in Cambodia. In Vietnam, market activity is slowly resuming after the New Year celebrations.

Still waiting for crop estimates

In February, the African Cashew Alliance projected a steady output of around 1.5-1,7 million mt of cashew nuts in Côte d’Ivoire. More recent projections issued by the Cashew Nut Association of Cambodia (CAC) simply state that production in Côte D’Ivoire will exceed 900,000 mt and that West African raw cashew nut production will range at 1.9-2.1 million mt, new estimates are still to emerge.
