NEW DELHI. Current price trends only reflect a temporary shift for chickpeas in India. Traders are convinced that the market will change course.

Temporary lull

The chickpea market is witnessing a temporary lull in demand, but prices continue to hold firm due to a shortage of arrivals from producing regions and limited market inventories. Some low-grade volumes temporarily disrupted trade in certain markets, but as stocks gradually cleared, the market regained stability.
