NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. Even though the US tariffs on Canadian goods have been postponed, the prospect of them still hangs over the market like a Sword of Damocles and is unsettling exporters. In India, prices continued to decline.

Indian traders sell at low prices

Indian chickpea prices are continuing their downward trend as the market is under increasing pressure. The harvest in Karnataka is starting and a large crop volume is expected here, just like in the other major producing states. According to market reports, sowing conditions in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh have been favourable.
