Dried apricots: slight harvest delays

MALATYA. Due to adverse weather conditions, the start of the harvest for the majority of Turkish apricot growers has been postponed by a few days. Yield estimates are still being finalised, but initial figures are already circulating in the market. Exports are well below last year’s levels.

Start of harvest pushed back

Sunny weather is expected in Malatya this week, with daytime highs of 31-34°C and night-time lows of 15-17°C. However, hailstorms were recorded in some districts last weekend.

According to market players, the apricot trees are currently in good condition. However, the start of the harvest has been delayed due to the relatively cool temperatures.
