MALATYA. The new dried apricot season is set to begin on 1 August as planned; however, not all the fruit have dried completely yet, which is why there will be slight delays. Market players are eagerly awaiting the announcement of prices for the new crop.

Harvest and drying are progressing

Weather conditions in Malatya remain favourable for drying apricots, with daytime temperatures of 34-36°C and cool nights. The harvest of fresh apricots and their export continue at full speed, whilst harvesting is now also taking place at higher altitudes. At the same time, the fruit are being dried and pitted. Not all apricots have dried sufficiently yet, so a delay of 7-10 days is expected. Market players are eagerly awaiting the prices for the new crop, though these are not expected to be announced until early August. Price
