BEIJING. The high prices for Chinese red kidney beans are discouraging buyers, so there is currently little trade. Exports of black kidney beans, meanwhile, are declining sharply, and the situation is similar in the mung bean market.

Exports of black kidney beans down sharply

According to Chinese market players, exports of black kidney beans have fallen sharply. In August 2023, more than 50% fewer black kidney beans were shipped overseas than in the same month last year, while the export price rose by 6.2%. Most of the commodities are shipped from China's northeastern growing regions and the Tianjin region, accounting for 75.4% of exports.
