NEW DELHI. Bullish sentiments prevail for chickpeas in India. No new crop is in sight. Stockists should profit.

Bullish outlook

The Kabuli Chana market has remained firm, supported by tight supply, strong stockist positioning, and favourable international prices. With no upcoming harvest in the next eight months, the supply-side pressure remains absent, allowing prices to stay elevated across domestic markets.

In Maharashtra, prices ranged between USD 8.19/kg and USD 8.43/kg last week, with premium quality lots reaching USD 8.67–9.04/kg. Traders report minimal bargaining, and sales are progressing slowly but steadily, driven by ongoing buyer interest.
