AYDIN. The Turkish dried fig market remains sluggish. Demand continues to be low. EU countries have halved their imports since 2021.

Hesitant market

Despite low demand, prices for Turkish dried figs remain at their current level. According to market experts, an estimated 10% of the crop is still in the hands of growers. Small to medium-sized dried figs are trading at TRY 260-300/kg on the domestic market, while larger fruits are trading at TRY 300-400/kg.

Export demand has declined, and at the same time, exporters are not very interested in concluding new contracts due to the negative experiences of recent months. The price indications for dried figs, Lerida, no 2 remain at USD 11,931/mt
