AYDIN. Turkish fig growers are complaining about this season's price developments. Around a third of farmers are still holding back their goods. Exports are slowly catching up.

Farmers are holding back

 

The upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays are causing the dried fig trade to slow down. Traders and exporters have reduced the procurement and prices are likely to remain at their current level for the time being. Dried figs, Lerida no 2 are currenty trading at USD 11.758/mt FOB Izmir.
