Figs: Aggressive price corrections

AYDIN. Some dry-fig distributors have corrected their prices heavily in order to sell what little stock they have remaining. The actual availability and quality of the goods still remains questionable.

Old stock at similar prices as last year?
Distributors have continuously lowered prices already over the last few months, after climbing to new heights at the beginning of the year. Now, the first prognoses for the 2018 fig production are drawing nearer, and both farmers as well as distributors are looking to sell their remaining stock as quickly as possible.

Many of them have difficulties storing their goods under optimal conditions over the summer months. Market participants are already now expressing doubts about the quality. Those who still have dried figs
