Dried apricots: at least exports are running

MALATYA. After the disastrous crop year of 2025, in which more than 98% of apricots in Malatya were destroyed by night frosts, exporters are not giving up hope. Although trade has come to a standstill, exports are continuing and generating good sales.

“Revenues are stable”

The situation on the Turkish dried apricot market remains unchanged from recent weeks: there are no purchases or sales, the plants are closed and trade has come to a standstill. However, Ramazan Özcan, President of the Malatya Commodity Exchange, explained that despite the negative impact of the April frost on dried apricot production, exports are continuing and the revenues generated are encouraging.
