Flaxseed: Canada's supplies reach historic low

OTTAWA/MOSCOW. According to experts, Canada's flaxseed stocks are at a record low. In Eastern Europe, however, the situation is more relaxed thanks to Russia, although there can be huge price differences depending on the supplier, especially in the organic sector.

Offers not attractive to foreign buyers

Canada's flaxseed stocks are at an all-time low, as Statistics Canada recently confirmed once again. Year ending stocks - as of 31 December - averaged 457,000 mt in 2016-2020, but by the end of 2020 they were already at just 377,000 mt. As of 31 December 2021, the experts now quoted an available quantity of just 260,000 mt. However, market players, such as the experts at Rayglen Commodities, are relatively relaxed.
