Hazelnuts: conditions for 2026 crop

ORDU. With the quiet time of the year approaching fast attention is turning towards January for hazelnuts. Ferrero’s actions will prove decisive. The conditions for the 2026 crop are not that encouraging at present.

Price speculations prevail

Supplies still are an issue for hazelnuts in Turkey. Not only is it difficult to obtain high-quality nuts but exporters also report that farmers and intermediaries are still not exactly forthcoming as they expect high prices. There are many social media posts asking the TMO to increase the purchase price to the TRY 310/kg offered by Ferrero in November and thereby effectively lift the minimum price to this new level. Suppliers are keen to sell more hoping that Ferrero will buy kernels as of January.
