Hazelnuts: Exporters want to reduce carry overs

ORDU. Frost has been forecasted for Turkey in the next few days and the Exporters’ Union has announced its first estimate for the 2018 crop.

 

Increased selling activities

Market players are not really concerned over the current weather forecasts as the situation is not to be worse than two weeks ago. The Exporters Union expects as crop of 650,000 mt in shells. Even if this estimate should prove too optimistic it is very well possible that this year’s production will amount to 300,000-325,000 mt of hazelnut kernels.
