Hazelnuts: official crop estimates 2022/23

ORDU. The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced the production estimates for the new season, which have been eagerly awaited by market players. These are promising, as is the quality of the nuts.

Good quality despite large crop

After the unofficial estimates for this year's crop in Turkey were a hopeful 830,000 mt of inshell hazelnuts, the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has now announced the official estimates: these amount to 765,287 mt, which is an increase of 12% compared to last year. In Ordu, the most important production centre for hazelnuts in Turkey, production is estimated at 240,600 mt.
