Hazelnuts: Prices may vary considerably

Exporters profit from crop estimates

The adverse weather conditions of the last few weeks have prompted the market to no longer expect a record crop as estimates will most certainly be revised downwards. Many exporters have, nevertheless, already stocked up on relatively cheap raw nuts. The TMO stocks also continue to be in high demand.

Overseas buyers are also profiting from the decline in the Turkish Lira. Speculators do not reckon with a recovery over the next few months and are offering the 2019/20 crop at risky prices. Experts are, however, convinced th
