ORDU. The decline of the Turkish lira dominates the Turkish hazelnut market like no other topic these days and the producers are holding their crops due to the low commodity price level.

Lira reaches record low
The Turkish currency lost about 45% of its value this year, but last Friday it slumped 18% and hit a record low. The action plan announced by the Turkish government, which is due to come into force earlier this week, was able to stop a further drop in the lira for the time being. The measures should also benefit small and medium-sized enterprises, which are usually the most affected by currency fluctuations.
