ORDU/SALEM. The prices of the TMO and the opening price of Ferrero will have a significant influence on the prices for the new crop, in addition to the exchange rate in Turkey. The outlook for the new Turkish crop is good and also in Oregon the crop damage seems to be less severe than feared.

Good conditions

Turkish market players report a very quiet hazelnut market at the moment. Demand for the new crop is increasing, while prices are relatively stable compared to last week. The weather outlook is also favourable for the development of the new crop, with warm temperatures and occasional rainfall ensuring good growth of the nuts and growers seeing few risks at present. Reports are circulating that the harvest in Turkey could be delayed by 5-7 days, but the Blacksea Exporter's Association expects this delay to be made up due to the good weather.
