DALIAN. The Chinese millet market remains quiet in the new year so far. Meanwhile, Germany has increased its imports from Russia massively.

Quiet winter months

Around the turn of the year, the Chinese millet market shows little trading activity and demand is limited. One exception is the organic millet sector, where buyers continue to show interest. However, snowfall could lead to delays in shipments from the growing regions during the winter months. Conventional millet is being offered for USD 1,180/mt FOB Dalian, while exporters are asking around USD 1,260/mt FOB for hulled organic millet.
