DALIAN/KYIV. The Chinese millet market remains calm. In Ukraine, a significantly larger area is set to be sown this year. EU imports have fallen sharply this season.

Demand is waning

As temperatures continue to rise, the Chinese millet market is experiencing a period of lower demand. Although raw material stocks are lower than at this time last year, processors and traders still have sufficient supplies to meet current demand. Many suppliers are keen to clear their stock before the new season; new goods are only being purchased in response to specific customer orders.
