NEW DELHI/KHARTOUM. Demand from India’s southern states for high-quality produce is increasing, whilst international buying interest remains weak. In Sudan, peanut exports have fallen significantly as a result of the conflict there. In Argentina, poor weather conditions have led to a decline in both volume and quality.

Demand for good quality

Following a three-week correction phase, the peanut market is showing a slight upward trend this week. Price movements continue to be influenced by various factors. The main supporting factor is the rising demand from the southern states for higher-quality peanuts. Local spot markets have only limited stocks, while daily deliveries from growers are insufficient to meet traders’ current requirements. This is dampening trade.
